The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly -- Week 2

Has it really been a month since my last post about this?! Crazy how fast time is moving these days.

Well I went back and checked and it's only been 3 weeks, so I'm not completely nuts after all.

There are so many things that are GOOD to tell you about! There are some bad, and not too many ugly -- I guess I just have trouble defining things in my life that are ugly.

And now, here is a little snippet of life :)

The GOOD:
Honeymoon in 18 days.
We are bringing a new kitty home soon, we don't know when, but it's going to be soon. And it's probably going to be named Boris which is awesome.
The handmade craft show went great. And my mother in law one a wine tasting raffle at the event which she gave to us as a gift -- I do not mind that one bit.
Christmas is almost here!

The BAD:
I still hate my hair cut. I see pictures of when it was long and I almost cry sometimes. A little pathetic I know.
Both Seth and I are getting sick. I currently keep Dayquil at my desk and cough drops in my car, bedside table, and purse!
I seem to be having issues with insomnia which is driving me crazy, and has been for the last couple months I just thought I'd get over it by now...I'm going to see my doc next week, its just no fun to deal with in the mean time!
I'm not quite ready for Christmas!

The UGLY:
My heart has been kind of ugly lately, I ignore the Word because I'm afraid that it will reveal that more. Any suggestions for battling periods of ugliness and complacency in your walk? It especially sucks that it's a special season and I seem to be in a funk! Also, when there are so many good things going on...why do I find myself in a rut?

Sometimes I frustrate myself just thinking about it!

Hope you guys have a great week!

Thrifty Love

a punk, a pumpkin and a peanut

I wish I had had more time to put into this fun project! When I signed up for the gift exchange, I was really excited about it, and then as time went on life got crazy and I wasn't able to put in the effort I was hoping to.

I was however, able to find Nikki  some pretty sweet vintage children's books that she mentioned she collected. I wish we had a big thrift type place around the bay area, unfortunately most of them are expensive antique stores! Our new place in Gilroy has some thrifty places near by that I'm already scoping out!

Nikki found some super amazing things for me, it was such a fun package to open!

I love these vintage linens, I cannot wait to use them in our new place!

Aren't those napkins the sweetest?!

Nikki also found these adorable cookie cutters, they will go perfect with my other vintage kitchen items!

And finally, some vintage sewing notions finished off this wonderful package of goodies! They will go well with my grandmothers sewing stuff that I was given!

I guess I am new at this type of gift exchange, I feel bad I didn't put more in my package for Nikki! I was blown away by all of the great things I received! I think I also need to get better at thrifting, everything was just so darn expensive!

Thank you, Nikki, for all of your wonderful finds!!

Can't wait to participate in another exchange like this!

A Rambling Post

There's been a lot going on in life..and when that happens, there's not a lot of blogging.

Since I've been home this has been my week:
- back to work
- finishing invitations
- food poisoning
- eye infections
- apartment searching
- crafting (while unable to move in bed from said food poisoning)
- camp reunion
- meetings

But I miss my little place on the internet.  I'm working on some fun stuff coming up and am exciting to link up with katy and kim for their patriotic July 4th linky party!

Today, Seth and I are headed down to Gilroy where our new life will be in two months. That's just crazy to even think about! I'm so excited for what our future holds!

We will be visiting his school, looking around at the neighborhoods at some apartments that are up for rent, and maybe some outlet shopping. But don't tell Seth that last bit ;)
I promise to be back soon. Cross my heart.

Until then, here are some fun images of my weekend in Wisconsin.

My Daddy and I before the wedding!
Some of the cousins

My Mom and one of her sisters. Don't they look so much alike?!

The bride and groom!

See you soon!

Wordless Wedneday - Ok Maybe Just a Few

Friday night, I pulled up to Seth's house only to find this:

I cried. I turned red. I told him he couldn't leave the house. Actually, I cried for the next 4 hours.

The moment still haunts me.

You see, I might be marrying the goofiest man in town, who else would shave beloved facial hair for a 2 hour event? His disguise? A man in a wheel chair with a USA leather jacket and a handlebar mustache. Lord, help me.

I love him so dearly, but sometimes he makes me crazy. Crazy, in love and crazy mental.

Linking up with Julie for Wordless Wednesday!

10-4 Good Buddy: A Link Up!

I recently started following Abby's adorable blog at Akers of Love! Who doesn't love an easy and fun blog post where you get to answer questions, and meet new friends?!

1. When is your birthday?
  July 26th

2. What's the best advice your mom ever gave you?
My mom has always taught me that being kind and smart, is always better than popular and pretty. She always encouraged me to find friends who loved me for me.

3. What's your number one weakness when it comes to food?
Cupcakes. I just can't say no.

4. What's the latest recipe you've tried and loved?

How about the only recipe I've tried lately? Me and my wannabe housewife self obviously need to get cookin'. Seth and I did try these Bacon Wrapped Weenies recently, and I've never been more successful with a recipe in my life.

Sweet, juicy, bacon goodness. And low carb too? Heaven help us.
You can thank me later for the recipe: http://www.instructables.com/id/Bacon-Wrapped-Weenies/

5. What is your favorite post from last month? {May}

My favorite post was reminiscing about Palm Springs -- I <3 me some Palm Springs!

6. What's your drink of choice in the summer?

Sangria. You really can't go wrong with Sangria! And Coke Zero -- always a good choice.

7. What's the best advice your dad ever gave you?

I'm not sure of specific advice...but he has always encouraged me to be independent and responsible. I am thankful for that.

8. What is God teaching you right now?

Trust. Trust in His word, His promise, and His timing.

For he says,
“In a favorable time I listened to you,
and in a day of salvation I have helped you.”
Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
(2 Corinthians 6:2 ESV)
9. What are you looking forward to most about the summer?
SO many things. ALL of the pre-wedding festivities. And of course...our wedding!!
