InstaFriday: Christmas Time Edition

Happy Friday, friends!
I'm snuggling by the fire this morning as the rain pounds and pitter patters all over our little house.

I won't be around much the next few days, I have a sweet friend of mine visiting for 6 whole days, the longest she's ever been here. I am seriously excited and a little overwhelmed that I have to entertain someone for that long!

This week has been good, probably because it's been short! I love 3 day work-weeks, I wish there were more of them! But good news, I got my shift covered for the Gilroy handmade show so I still get to participate!

Anywho, here goes the last week through instagram:

As mentioned, we went home and hung out at our favorite bar/restaurant called The Office. Fire places in restaurants are the jam.

I'm super jealous of this cute gift my mom was given. I want to steal them!

Sunday night we got home and picked out our Christmas Tree. We went to the place that you could cut your own down, but after circling the lot 5 times we couldn't find the kind of tree that we wanted -- aka a Noble Fir. We are both apparently particular about our tree type! We asked the people there and they said they don't grow them in California and they were only available pre-cut. Oh well, at least we got the kind we wanted!

My MIL gave us this sweet "First Christmas" ornament. Seth's fam is super into ornaments and he has one for every year of his life. I'd love to start that tradition in our house.

I've been having a little fun decorating the whole house!

My mom has every wednesday off, she has had Wednesday off for most of my life so naturally it's become my favorite day of the week. This wednesday we met for lunch and I taught her how to use you-tube on her phone. We got her the i-Phone 5 for her birthday and it hasn't come in the mail yet, naturally she is nervous that she has to learn something new! But I'm excited to teach her everything it can do!

Btw, this pic is totally candid..she had no idea I was taking it :)

Trader Joes is the best, they carry this low carb chocolate bar that only has 8 carbs in the whole bar! I refilled my stash at work so I wasn't tempted by the other sweet treats floating around the office. I've been doing really well this week getting back on the diet and I already am seeing results!

And finally, I hung that amazing "HOPE" ornament in the perfect place, the light hits it so well and it is always easy to find. I love our little crooked tree. I love the way it makes our little home smell and its just perfect!

Well friends, it's been a good week and I'm excited to share with you the adventures I have with my girlfriends in town.

See you next week :)

My Cup Overflows - A Life Update

There are so many things to tell you about. Life has been filled to the brim lately, the good kind of full that makes you smile and tear up a little when you reflect back on it.

Last weekend we had our housewarming party. It was all kinds of fantastic, and it was so great to have our closest friends and family come and share in our new home. We got a lot of wine, which I could never complain about. We had some yummy food, most of which was all from Pinterest. Thanks to Jess for the awesome corn dip recipe, it went FAST. Also, Mel, these went fast -- thanks for posting these!

On Tuesdays nights we have Neighborhood Group through our new church. This group has quickly become my favorite night of the week. I have already met two super awesome ladies that I can tell will be close friends in no-time. The same goes for Seth, and we are SO thankful, so so very thankful for God answering our prayers and helping us find a church home quickly.

This week has been a doozy at work. I must admit, I'm still adjusting to the 40-hour a week schedule, it is mentally, physically, and emotionally draining but I really am loving my job. I have learned so much in the past two weeks and I am proud to tell you that I am exceeding their expectations and already have patients admitted under my name, which is huge. yay!

This week Seth and I celebrated two months of marriage, a small, small milestone but he has blessed me so much lately. He is so sweet to me and knows my heart so well, I am constantly blown away by his love for our little family.

Right now as I type he is cooking dinner, and won't tell me what, also he has served me tea, wine, chocolate, oh and he's doing the dishes. and...I just got a back massage mid-blog. seriously?
serving my socks off.

My cup literally overflows. I am resting sweetly in Psalm 23.
Praise Jesus for a two days off of rest, I plan on doing loads and loads of laundry, and trying to catch up on life.
How have you been?
I feel like I have missed so much in blog land.

Have you been shopping yet?

I also will be participating in a local holiday boutique, in Gilroy. I've never designed a product display..or really anything like it. I'm excited and so nervous all at once. Any recommendations or ideas on that?

Oh, Happy Friday!!
xoxo

Insta-Friday Newlywed Addition

It's been a while since I've participated in Insta-Friday. You see, life was pretty nuts for a while but now I have time to settle back into normal.

As a bride you hear about this absence you feel once the wedding is over, and I find myself feeling so relieved. Especially after all of the positive feedback from our friends and family, I feel at peace with the entire event and so blessed to have gotten the opportunity to get married! God truly provided peace when I needed it most, and we trust that He is continually providing it for us in our newly married life!

Here's a few favorites from the last week (or so):
Em and I bachelorette-ing it up!
Snuggling with my besties on my bed for the last time...
loved my bride jacket!!
My fancy, beautiful bridesmaids!
No caption needed :)
YAY! we're married!!
And we get to enjoy our grooms cake! It was delicious.

We like being married, a lot.

Just one of our incredible gifts. My childhood babysitter got us these, having not seen me in at least 10 years. She didn't know we were huge Disney fans! How amazing is that!
I hung up our guest book tree from the wedding and I couldn't be happier, it's so cute!

Life is now about job hunting, home organizing, and learning how to cook. Somewhat mundane, but I'm so excited for what this season has to offer!
